Mailbox for incidents in voting abroad

If you are a Catalan living abroad and have had problems in exercising your right to vote in the election for the Parliament of Catalonia on 27 September, please tell us about it here.

The Ministry of Governance and Institutional Relations is providing this mailbox so you can tell us about any problems and incidents you have experienced when voting from abroad.

Complaints received through this official channel will be examined by legal and technical staff at the Ministry of Governance and Institutional Relations and will be the basis for taking legal action if deemed appropriate against the Central Electoral Commission and the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation for the irregular operation of postal voting abroad in this election.

The Ministry of Governance and Institutional Relations has taken this decision due to the multiple allegations of irregularities in voting from abroad in the election on 27 September that the Ministry has received or which have been made public in the media and on social networks by Catalans living abroad.

In addition the Ministry of Governance and Institutional Relations will also ask the Central Electoral Commission (JEC) to investigate the incidents that have already been reported by Catalans living abroad, such as voting in Italy where ballot papers were sent to the wrong address, and what happened to the voting documents that did not arrive in countries including Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile and parts of the United States and China. The Ministry of Governance and Institutional Relations is adamant that it asked the JEC three times to extend the deadline for voting from abroad, and that the JEC refused to do so on all three occasions.
