Turnout surpasses by almost 10 points from the 2012 elections and registers the highest participation ever in the Parliament of Catalonia.
The Minister for Governance and Institutional Relations, Meritxell Borràs, appeared before the 27S2015 press center set up in the Parliament of Catalonia to announce the latest provisional results.
The Minister for Governance and Institutional Relations views the "very high participation" as a positive, and despite only having provisional results has reached 77.45%. This latest figure surpasses the voter turnout in the 2012 elections by almost 10 points. Borràs also noted that the participation "is the highest in history, and gives a great validity to the results".
Meritxell Borràs also noted the significant decrease in blank and spoilt votes. In these elections there have been 0.53% blank votes and 0.39% spoilt votes.
