Today starts the period for public display of the census and correcting data, which will end on 17 August A total of 5,510,713 Catalans are called to the polls, 96,845 more than in the last elections Of the total census, 195,533 are resident away and 164,240 are new electors, who will be voting for the first time in elections to the Catalan Parliament
The electoral process for the parliamentary elections inCataloniawill mobilize 77,470 people during election day on 27 September, between officers at polling stations and representatives of the Authorities. In the whole ofCataloniathere will be 24,531 officials and 49,062 assistants, who will be running 2,702 polling stations (16 less than in 2012) and 8,177 ballot boxes (47 more than in 2012).
By electoral districts, inBarcelonathere will be 1,609 polling stations; in Girona, 399; in Lleida, 321; and inTarragona, 373.
The period of public display of the census begins
From this Monday, 10 August, the process begins of public display of the census and correcting data for the parliamentary elections inCatalonia. The data will be on display in the town and city halls and consulates until 17 August next. During this time, from 10 to 17 August, applications for changes in details can be submitted and also requests for inclusion or exclusion from the census.
The Electoral Census Office will publish corrections and notify the applicants, town halls and consulates of the results of requests on 21 August. At the same time, the Government has begun the information campaign on verification of the census during the electoral period. This campaign, which is addressed to all citizens, will be broadcast in the communication media. Also various instructive videos have been prepared on the different ways of voting and on the functions of polling station officials and these can be seen on the web www.parlament2015.cat.
Details of the provisional census
It must be remembered that the provisional census for these elections to the Catalan Parliament comprises 5,510,713 Catalans. Of these, 195,533 are Catalan electors abroad and registered in the Census of electors resident abroad (CERA).
The provisional electoral census of residents in Catalonia (CER) for these elections is 5,315,180 people, 57,829 more than in 2012. Of this total, 3,973,123 people are in the district of Barcelona;495,606 inthe district of Girona; 299,131 are in the district of Lleida, and 547,320 are in theTarragonadistrict.
Of the 195,533 Catalan electors abroad, registered in CERA, 151,131 correspond to the district of Barcelona; 15,214, to Girona; 14,598, to Lleida, and 14,590 toTarragona. The number of Catalan electors registered in CERA has risen materially since the Parliamentary elections of 2012, when the total figure was 156,517.
