There are 36 fewer candidatures than for the 2012 elections
30 August is the end of the time allowed for correcting any irregularities found by the provincial electoral boards and on 1 September the candidatures proclaimed will be published in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia.
The Ministry of Governance and Institutional Relations has processed the publication of the 43 provisional candidatures contesting the elections to the Parliament of Catalonia on 27 September next. This information has been published today, Wednesday 26 August, in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia (DOGC). InBarcelona 10 candidatures have been presented;12 in Girona;11 in Lleida, and10 inTarragona.
The total number of candidatures for these elections is less than for the 2012 parliamentary elections. In total, 36 fewer candidatures have been presented than in the previous Catalan elections, when there were79. InBarcelonathe candidatures are down from 24 to 10; inTarragonafrom 19 to 10; in Girona, they are down from 18 to 12, and in Lleida, from 18 to 11.
Period for correcting irregularities
On 29 and 30 August the political formations can correct any irregularities found by the provincial electoral boards (JEP).
On 31 August, the JEP will officially announce the definitive candidatures, which will be published in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia on 1 September.
