The Government of Catalonia has been selected as a finalist in two categories of the European eGovernment Awards 2009.

Category 2.a. eGovernment empowering citizens:

• Catalonia Citizen-Care-Centric approach to eGovernment', C3Cat,

Category 3. eGovernment enabling administrative efficiency and effectiveness:

• e-Catalunya: boosting eGov innovation by Communities of Practice

These two initiatives, merely by being among the 52 finalists, have also been awarded the "Good Practice 2009" label. As well as the finalists, 55 other initiatives have also been awarded the Good Practice label by the European Commission. The Government of Catalonia was awarded this distinction in 2007, in the last eGovernment Awards, for the gencat website, in the transparency and participation category.
